The Emotions collection started with Jess trying to find a 2D way to express her lifelong battle with Bipolar 2 disorder. Due to fear of rejection she hid her mental illness until her 30's. In that same fashion she started her collection with HAPPINESS to ease her audience into the more difficult emotions. Now that she's expressing herself she is finding more healing and joy everyday. Viewing her collection is watching someone dive deep into themself and pour it into a canvas. Every description starts with the definition to allow the audience to connect with the standard meaning then Jess adds meaning to every layer of paint. From color, to shape, to scraping away the layers.
